About Richard Falcon

Richard V. Falcon began his legal career in 1971 and shortly thereafter co-founded the firm with William Murphy. He graduated summa cum laude and first in his class from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 1969, where he served as Executive Editor of the Law Review. He then worked as a tax and securities lawyer at Sutherland Asbill in Atlanta before moving to Baltimore, where he became an Associate Professor of Law at the University of Maryland School of Law in 1971 and was promoted to full Professor in 1973, becoming the youngest tenured professor in the school's history. Outside the classroom, he took on civil rights cases, including a successful suit against the Prince George's County School Board to end segregation in its public schools (Vaughns v. Board of Education, 1972). Mr. Falcon is known within the firm for his analytical depth and writing skill, and his peers describe him as possessing "sheer brilliance" and knowing more law than most attorneys will ever encounter. He co-led the team that obtained a $34.33 million settlement in Wynn et al. v. MJ Harbor Hotel, LLC, on behalf of Ruth's Chris Steakhouse employees who suffered permanent injuries from carbon monoxide poisoning. His practice focuses on medical malpractice, personal injury, environmental torts, unnecessary stents, and commercial litigation.
