About Timothy Tietjen
Timothy G. Tietjen built a 40-year career handling complex, catastrophic personal injury cases. In his first trial as lead counsel in 1991, he obtained a $6.9 million verdict for a 70-year-old woman who broke her neck in a loading dock fall. His subsequent record includes a $29 million settlement for an electrocuted worker who lost both arms, a $23 million settlement for a young woman rendered quadriplegic by a drunk driver, a $47.5 million settlement for a child struck by a fallen tree in a county campground (which generated two published appellate decisions on government immunity), a $63 million bench trial verdict for a man who suffered permanent brain damage when a tree limb fell on his skull, and more than $50 million for victims of the 2017 North Bay Napa fires. Tietjen served as president of the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association and was twice nominated for California Trial Lawyer of the Year by Consumer Attorneys of California. He has been recognized as a California Super Lawyer for over 20 years. Tietjen has retired from active practice but continues to consult with the firm on major cases.
