About Daragh Carter
Daragh Carter is a board-certified personal injury trial lawyer at Smith & Hassler. Born in Northern Ireland, he earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Queens University of Belfast and a master's degree in applied psychology from the University of Ulster before coming to the United States. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston Law Center in 2005, ranking 20th in a class of over 380 students. Before joining Smith & Hassler in 2006, he was a litigation associate at Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P. in Houston. His practice focuses on personal injury law and insurance bad faith, with a particular interest in cases involving drunk drivers and commercial vehicle crashes. He has tried many cases to jury verdict, including several excess verdicts where the award exceeded the defendant's insurance policy limits. Daragh teaches trial advocacy skills as an adjunct professor at the University of Houston Law Center and is a member of the Houston Trial Lawyers Association.
