
About Curtis Miller
Curtis W. Miller is Of Counsel at Stewart Miller Simmons Trial Attorneys, recognized for his knowledge of criminal law. He began his career in the Public Defender's Office in Athens, Georgia, and also represented defendants through the Georgia Indigent Defense Council. A native Atlantan and Stonecrest resident for over 30 years, he graduated from Duke University (B.S., 1976) and the University of Georgia (J.D., 1979). He was in private practice for many years before being appointed as a Magistrate in DeKalb County by Governor Nathan Deal in 2004. He became Supervisor of the DeKalb Magistrate Court, Criminal Division in 2017, and also served as Chief Judge of the Lithonia Municipal Court. After retiring from the DeKalb County Magistrate Court in 2021, he joined Stewart Miller Simmons as Of Counsel in 2022. He also serves as Judge Pro Tem in the DeKalb County Juvenile Court.
