About John Layman
John Layman grew up in a competitive family in Grays Harbor, Washington, with his father as a model trial lawyer who represented insurance companies. After watching his father express regret over a verdict against a deserving plaintiff, John decided to represent individuals rather than corporations. He earned his B.A. cum laude from Washington State University and his J.D. cum laude from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1983. He has served on the executive team at F&M Bank and the board of Banner Bank, and has held leadership roles with the New Hope Training Center, St. Luke's Rehabilitation Advisory Board, and the Eastern District of Washington BIAW. He joined Stritmatter Law through a merger with Layman Law in Spokane, where he handles auto collisions, medical negligence, products liability, brain injury, and insurance bad faith.
