
About Sean Shaw
Sean Shaw is a trial attorney at Swope, Rodante P.A. with a background spanning law, public policy, and community advocacy. Born and raised in Tallahassee, he graduated from Princeton University in 2000 with an A.B. in Politics and from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2003. In 2008 he was appointed as Florida's Insurance Consumer Advocate by Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink, managing a team of 15 state employees committed to protecting Florida policyholders. He is founder of Policyholders of Florida, a statewide consumer advocacy coalition. In August 2016, he was elected as State Representative for Florida House District 61. He is admitted to practice in Florida and Washington D.C. and is authorized to appear before all state and federal courts in Florida. He is the son of the late Leander J. Shaw Jr., the first Black Chief Justice of the Florida Supreme Court.
