James Kelly

Background

James C. Kelly is a partner at The Russo Firm with more than 20 years of experience litigating class actions and commercial disputes. His practice focuses on consumer protection and class actions, food advertising litigation, corporate accountability, and complex commercial disputes. Kelly is recognized for pioneering 'Expectations vs. Reality' litigation challenging discrepancies between food advertising and actual products, with landmark victories against major corporations including Burger King and The Hershey Company. He earned his B.S. from SUNY Binghamton in 1999, his Juris Doctor summa cum laude from Brooklyn Law School in 2004, and holds a CPA credential. While in law school, he received the CALI Award for Excellence in Securities Regulation, Secured Transactions, and Federal Tax Practices, and was recognized as a Carswell Scholar. He is also a member of Beta Alpha Psi National Honor Society. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2005 and is also licensed in the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
