William Wingate

William (Bill) A. Wingate was the founding partner of Wingate, Russotti, Shapiro, Moses & Halperin, LLP, a trial lawyer specializing in personal injury law. He passed away in November 2009.

Wingate earned his Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School in 1949, graduating as class valedictorian. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in January 1950.

A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, Wingate served on the Board of Directors of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and was a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He held various community leadership roles including President of his Synagogue, Trustee and Deputy Mayor of the Village of Ocean Beach, Fire Island, NY, and involvement with State of Israel Bonds and U.J.A. Federation Lawyers Division.
