Steven Beardsley

Steve Beardsley has practiced civil litigation for nearly 40 years, handling personal injury, construction law, commercial disputes, workers' compensation, medical malpractice, insurance defense, and product liability. He graduated with honors from law school and served as a law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the District of South Dakota from 1978 to 1980 before entering private practice. He has tried lawsuits in state and federal courts throughout South Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, and Iowa, and handled arbitrations in South Dakota and Colorado. His appellate work includes appearances before the South Dakota Supreme Court, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He has earned an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, is a member of the American Association for Justice, and was named South Dakota Trial Lawyer of the Year for 2021. He also served on the Board of Governors of the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association from 1992 to 1994 and again from 2008 to 2010.
