Ira Sherman

Ira Sherman joined the firm in April 1980 and became its senior and managing partner upon Joseph Chaikin's retirement in December 1999. A trial lawyer with decades of experience, Mr. Sherman has built his practice on aggressive litigation strategies representing injured victims and victims of discrimination. He served as President of the Trial Lawyers' Association of Metropolitan Washington, D.C. in 1992, has been listed in Washington, D.C. Super Lawyers every year since 2011, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Brain Injury Association of America. He was co-chairman of the Embolization Devices Litigation committee and is an active member of the Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation Group of the American Association for Justice.

He has lectured at seminars sponsored by numerous national bar associations, including the Hispanic National Bar Association and the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association. The firm has consistently received an AV rating, the highest awarded by the Martindale-Hubbell Directory of Attorneys. Mr. Sherman focuses on personal injury, brain injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, car accidents, truck accidents, bus accidents, motorcycle accidents, and bicycle accident cases.
