About Kirby Farris

Kirby Farris is the managing partner of Farris, Riley & Pitt, LLP and has over 20 years of experience representing victims of personal injury, wrongful death, and railroad worker injuries under the Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA). A former Norfolk Southern Railway laborer for 11 years, Kirby brings first-hand understanding to workplace injury cases, especially those involving railroad workers. He is a Designated FELA Counsel for the Transportation Communications Union (TCU) and has secured numerous multimillion-dollar settlements, including national FLSA class actions.

Kirby earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Alabama and his J.D. from Birmingham School of Law in 1994, where he later taught torts and civil procedure as an associate professor. A native of Lynn, Alabama, he co-hosts the legal TV show LawCall every Sunday on Fox 6 WBRC. He has been selected to Super Lawyers every year from 2012 through 2026.

Farris, Riley & Pitt secured a confidential settlement for the mother of Jamea Harris, a 23-year-old woman killed in a January 2023 shooting on the Tuscaloosa Strip, with proceeds placed in trust for her young son.
