Daniel Back grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico and attended Bluefield University in Virginia on a baseball scholarship, graduating magna cum laude with a B.S. in Criminal Justice and Psychology in 2004. He earned his J.D. from Baylor University School of Law in 2007, where he won the American Association for Justice National Mock Trial Championship (224 competing teams). His practice focuses on personal injury and wrongful death, including motor vehicle accidents, medical malpractice, product liability, and train accidents. In a two-year span he secured over $30 million in settlements and trial verdicts, including a $3,277,455 medical malpractice verdict that stands as the largest trial verdict in Cowley County history, involving a physician who over-prescribed opioids. He has been named to the National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 from 2016 through 2022, to the Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyers Rising Stars list from 2013 through 2018, and to the Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyers list from 2018 through 2022. He was also named to the National Trial Lawyers Top 100 in 2023. Beyond his practice, Back serves as an adjunct professor at Wichita State University, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in criminal justice and trial advocacy.
