J. Darin Hayes

Darin Hayes joined Hutton & Hutton Law Firm, LLC in March 2002 after gaining early experience at a prominent Wichita defense firm. That background informs his ability to anticipate and counter common defense tactics. His practice focuses on catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and healthcare-related negligence, including auto accidents, truck accidents, medical malpractice, and nursing home negligence. Hayes earned a B.A. in philosophy, with honors, from the University of Texas (1990) and a J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law (1994). He is admitted to practice in Kansas and Missouri, including before the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit. Hayes has secured numerous six- and seven-figure verdicts and large settlements for injured clients. He has been named a Kansas Super Lawyer and Top 100 Trial Lawyer by the National Trial Lawyers Association, received the Wichita Business Journal Lawyer of the Year for plaintiff personal injury in 2013, and was recognized by Best Lawyers as Lawyer of the Year for Medical Malpractice Law in 2016 and for Personal Injury Litigation in 2021.
