Marc Johnston

Marc A. Johnston is the principal and owner of Johnston Law Firm, P.C. in Portland, Oregon. His legal career spans more than 15 years and focuses on representing individuals and families injured by negligent drivers and corporations. He began at a Portland firm handling commercial litigation, insurance coverage disputes, and appeals, then joined a second firm where he handled a large caseload of personal injury and wrongful death defense work. That defense-side experience gave him direct insight into how insurance companies evaluate claims and develop litigation strategy, which he now applies on behalf of injured clients. Johnston graduated cum laude from the Gonzaga University School of Law, where he was a National Moot Court Team member, National Student Director for the National Appellate Advocacy Competition, and Executive Editor of the Gonzaga Journal of International Law.

He received the 2005 National Winner award in the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section Student Writing Competition. He earned his bachelor's degree in business management and marketing from Eastern Washington University, where he also worked in his family's construction business and served in the Washington State Legislature for two state representatives. From 2006 to 2009 Johnston founded and served as head coach of the Reed College Mock Trial Program, leading the team to a national honorable mention in its second year. He chairs the Sports Committee for the Portland Chapter of the Gonzaga Alumni Program and serves on the Oregon State Bar Mentor Task Force, Oregon LRAP, and the Oregon New Lawyers Division board.
