James E. Soto

James E. Soto is Of Counsel at Kherkher Garcia, providing specialized probate counseling for clients with personal injury litigation cases. He earned his undergraduate degree in Spanish Language and Literature from Louisiana State University and his J.D. (Doctor of Jurisprudence) from the University of Houston Law Center. In 2014, he founded the Soto Law Firm to provide individualized representation for Texas and Latin American clients. James is certified by the State Bar of Texas to represent clients as an Attorney Ad Litem in Guardianship proceedings and is a frequent speaker for organizations serving children with disabilities. He traces his family roots to the 1850s Texas Hill Country but was born and raised in the oilfields of Venezuela where his parents worked as pioneers in the emerging oil industry. James is fluent in written and spoken Spanish. From 2012 to 2017, he served as Abogado Consultor (legal consultant) to the Mexican Consulate in Houston, appointed by Mexico's Secretary of Foreign Relations.
