About Troy O'Brien
Troy O'Brien is a Houston-native associate at Kherkher Garcia with experience in motor vehicle accidents, industrial plant accidents, medical malpractice, premises liability, and product liability. He earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering and his M.S. in Safety Engineering from Texas A&M University before earning his J.D. from South Texas College of Law in 2013, where he served on the Law Review. His chemical engineering background gives him a practical technical lens on many of the industrial cases the firm handles. Troy has briefed cases before the Texas Appellate and Supreme Courts and served as counsel for the head of a creditors' committee in a complex multi-district bankruptcy. In May 2026, he was part of the trial team that won a $1,407,500 jury verdict for a young man injured in a commercial bus crash (Carvajal v. Tornado Bus Company, Harris County) after the defendant had never made a settlement offer.
