About Brent Ward
Brent D. Ward is a seasoned trial lawyer and former federal prosecutor who brings decades of courtroom experience to Parker & McConkie's civil practice. A graduate of the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah, he began his career as an Assistant U.S. Attorney before being appointed by President Ronald Reagan as U.S. Attorney for the District of Utah, a role he held for eight years. In that capacity, he directed all federal criminal and civil litigation in the state, prosecuting cases involving fraud, violent crime, and drug trafficking, and championing legislative reforms including the Utah Communications Fraud Act and the Utah Child Kidnapping and Sexual Abuse Act. He later served in senior leadership roles at the U.S. Department of Justice overseeing national enforcement initiatives. Brent has also practiced in the private sector, including as a partner at WardLambert, PLLC, and has held executive-level legal positions in industry. At Parker & McConkie, he represents victims of crime, abuse, and catastrophic injury, drawing on his experience at the highest levels of the U.S. justice system. Brent and his wife, Esther Jane Peterson, are the parents of seven children.
