About Richard Lambert

Richard N. M. Lambert brings more than five decades of litigation experience in state and federal courts to Parker & McConkie. Born in San Francisco and raised in the Bay Area, he graduated from Brigham Young University and earned his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School. He began his career as a Deputy District Attorney in Ventura County, California, from 1972 to 1981, then was appointed as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Utah in 1981. Over the next three decades, he served in key leadership roles including Criminal Chief and Senior Litigation Counsel, trying many of the region's most complex cases. His career includes roles in the Singer/Swapp prosecution, the Kiplyn Davis homicide case, the Brian David Mitchell prosecution arising from the Elizabeth Smart kidnapping, the Unabomber investigation, and the Valerie Clark Miller cold-case homicide. From 2010 to 2025, he continued to serve the community through pro bono representation, criminal defense, and advocacy for victims of violent crime. Richard serves as trustee and vice chairman of the Mormon Historic Sites Foundation and is married to the former Mary Hayward. They are the parents of six children.
