About Jessica Huynh

Jessica Huynh is a trial attorney who joined Smith & Vinson after spending 11 years as a prosecutor in Galveston, Williamson, and Travis counties. At the Travis County District Attorney's Office she served as lead trainer and handled complex child abuse cases and other aggravated felonies. She also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Texas School of Law, teaching mock trial. A first-generation Vietnamese-American, Jessica was the first in her family to attend college, earning a full scholarship to the University of Southern California, where she competed on a nationally recognized mock trial team and graduated with a B.A. in Political Science in 2003. She founded a competitive mock trial team at the University of Oregon School of Law, where she also interned at the Washington County District Attorney's Office, and graduated in 2010. Jessica has handled thousands of cases ranging from low-level misdemeanor offenses to capital murder and has been trying cases before juries across Texas for over a decade. She is a member of the Austin Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Williamson County Bar Association, Hays County Bar Association, and Greater Austin Area Asian Chamber of Commerce.
