Peter Weinberger

Peter H. Weinberger is a trial lawyer and former managing partner of Spangenberg Shibley & Liber who has handled complex injury and wrongful death cases in medical malpractice, defective products, and motor vehicle accidents throughout his career. In a landmark role over the past eight years, Peter served as Plaintiff's Co-Liaison Counsel in the National Prescription Opiate Multidistrict Litigation. In the fall of 2021, he led a trial team that secured a $650 million abatement award on behalf of two Ohio counties against three national pharmacy chains, a verdict that contributed to a worldwide settlement for more than 3,000 cities and counties exceeding $70 billion. He has also served on MDL steering and executive committees in the Teflon, Gadolinium, and Benicar (Olmesartan) litigations. He joined the firm in 1988, served as managing partner from 2002 to 2017, and has been of counsel since 2018. He earned his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1975 and his B.A. from Syracuse University in 1972. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Society of Barristers.
