Matthew L. Thompson

Matthew is a corporate and real estate attorney, serving private and public companies with all aspects of their business and real estate needs. His transactional practice focuses on commercial real estate, mergers and acquisitions, capital structuring and financing. Matthew’s experience includes guiding mid-market companies through sell-side M&A deals, and facilitating secured corporate financing packages, across industries that include biotech, telecom, SaaS, manufacturing, real estate investment, agribusiness and retail. Matthew also acts as outside general counsel for clients, collaborating directly with leadership teams to handle contract negotiations, business acquisitions, regulatory compliance, and day-to-day corporate governance.

Matthew handles complex purchase and sale transactions, joint ventures, development projects, commercial leasing and secured lending transactions in his real estate practice. Matthew partners with landowners, developers, contractors and lenders to successfully transact and develop mixed-use, multi-family, commercial and industrial properties from start to finish. He routinely serves as lead counsel on urban/mixed-use development projects and for high-value shopping center lease negotiations with national retailers.
