James O'Keefe

James M. O'Keefe attended Niagara University, where he learned about the Vincentian mission of dedicated service and volunteered at local schools and a prison literacy program. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in English in 2000. After working for his brother's small business and serving as a wrestling official, he moved to Buffalo in 2004 to attend the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law, where he was one of eight first-year students selected to represent UB Law at the Fasken Martineau international moot court competition in Toronto. He was a finalist in the Desmond Moot Court Competition and placed in the top 15% at the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. He graduated in 2007 and was named to the Order of Barristers for excellence in oral advocacy and brief writing. He was admitted to practice in New York in February 2008, and is also admitted in the U.S. District Court and U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of New York.
