About John Willis

John C. Willis IV was born in Charlottesville, Virginia on October 17, 1958 and has lived in Orlando since 1982. He earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Colorado in Boulder in 1982, then attended Stetson University School of Law in St. Petersburg, receiving his J.D. and admission to the Florida Bar in 1985. He began his career as an Assistant State Attorney in Orange County and Osceola County, then from 1987 practiced insurance defense with an emphasis on medical negligence before transitioning to plaintiff-side personal injury work. He has been selected among the 'Best of the Bar' top 10% personal injury trial attorneys by the Orlando Business Journal (2005), holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and has obtained multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements throughout Florida, including a case that settled in excess of $8 million.
