Joshua Laabs

Joshua W. Laabs is a partner at Schmidt Salita Law Team, focusing on workers' compensation and personal injury matters. He was raised in northwestern Minnesota and earned his undergraduate degree at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota and his law degree at Hamline University School of Law (now Mitchell Hamline School of Law). Joshua was admitted to the Minnesota State Bar in 2012 and the U.S. District Court of Minnesota in 2015. He joined Schmidt Salita in 2018. Throughout his career, Josh has exclusively represented individuals in personal injury and workers' compensation matters against at-fault parties and insurance companies. He is a member of the Hennepin County Bar Association, the Ramsey County Bar Association, the Minnesota State Bar Association, and the Minnesota Association for Justice, and is a frequent continuing legal education presenter. He has been selected to Super Lawyers in 2024 and 2025, and to Super Lawyers Rising Stars in 2021 and 2022. He has also been recognized by The National Trial Lawyers and The American Institute of Legal Counsel as a Top 40 Under 40 lawyer and 10 Best Workers' Compensation Attorney for Client Satisfaction. Josh is a founding board member of two nonprofits, Twin Cities Walleyes Unlimited, LLC, and Pier 22 Fishing.
