About Taylor Asen
Taylor Asen is a founding partner of Gideon Asen LLC and specializes in medical malpractice cases and other complex personal injury litigation. A Maine native, Taylor graduated summa cum laude from George Washington University, earned an M.A. from Columbia University, and earned his J.D. from Yale Law School, where he worked in the Veterans Legal Services Clinic representing veterans denied disability benefits. After law school he clerked for two federal judges: Judge J. Paul Oetken of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, and Judge Julio Fuentes of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He then practiced at a New York firm before returning to Maine. Ben Gideon recruited him to help found Gideon Asen LLC in 2020. Taylor has recovered tens of millions of dollars for clients and played a key role in several of the largest case settlements in Maine history. In 2023, Taylor and Meryl Poulin obtained one of the largest jury verdicts in a child sex abuse case in Maine's history. In 2024, Taylor and Trevor Savage won a $2.4 million medical malpractice verdict in Penobscot County. Taylor is an Adjunct Professor at Maine Law School and has served on the Board of Governors of the American Association for Justice.
