About J. Charles Hepworth
J. Charles 'Charlie' Hepworth is a founding partner at Hepworth Holzer and is widely recognized by fellow attorneys and clients as Idaho's premier personal injury and medical malpractice trial lawyer. Born and raised in Twin Falls County, he earned a B.A. in English from Stanford University in 1978 and his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of Law in 1981, then returned to Idaho in 1983 to build a trial practice representing injured people. He is Idaho's only member of the Inner Circle of Advocates and a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, where membership cannot exceed one percent of a state's lawyer population. His fellow Idaho trial lawyers honored him with the James J. May Award as Trial Lawyer of the Year in 2022, and Lawdragon named him among the Leading 500 Consumer Attorneys in the United States. He has been listed among the Top 10 Mountain States Super Lawyers since 2022 and on the Top 100 list for more than a decade. His practice focuses on medical malpractice, product liability, aviation accidents, and serious personal injury. Notable results include a $7.55 million wrongful death verdict against St. Luke's Hospital (2001), a $6.15 million verdict for a family whose 28-year-old daughter died from a medical error (2006), a settlement exceeding $10 million in a motor vehicle case litigated in Italy, and a $5 million medical malpractice settlement (2014).
