Denise Hoggard

Denise Hoggard heads the litigation department at Rainwater, Holt & Sexton, a position she has held since 2013. She came to Arkansas in the 1970s when her father was stationed at Little Rock Air Force Base. She earned a B.S. in Journalism from Arkansas State University and worked as a newspaper reporter before attending the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Bowen School of Law, where she earned her J.D. in 1983 and was licensed to practice in Arkansas in 1984 and Texas in 1980.

A former newspaper reporter on the police and courts beat, she has been deeply involved in the legal profession as President of the Arkansas Bar Association in 2016, President of the Arkansas Association of Women Lawyers, and adjunct instructor at Bowen School of Law. She has tried cases throughout her career, has over 100 bench and jury trials, and was recognized for possible appointment to the federal bench. She received the Arkansas Bar Golden Gavel Award in 2015 and is board-certified by the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys.
